Half Term Four in Reception

Red, Yellow and Blue class have had another busy term!

We are learning to add and subtract two numbers and are trying very hard to use our phonics when writing. Have a look at some of our best work.

Here are some children from Blue Class who have worked out how to use Numicon to add two numbers together.

Red Class really enjoyed learning about butterfly and frog life cycles. Here is our classroom display and some fantastic writing about how a caterpillar becomes a butterfly!

Yellow Class have been using their construction blocks a lot this term. Have a look at how they have been experimenting with shape, pattern, repetition and height.

Half Term Three in Reception

This term in Reception we have been learning about helping each other and about people who help us.

We learnt about all sorts of different jobs and occupations - from people who help us at school to people who help us in the street!

Blue Class made some fantastic police walkie talkies using recycled material.

Red Class have been working as a team and helping each other. Look at the patterns and shapes we created when building with our blocks!

We have also been practising using our sounds in our writing. We wrote about some of the people who help us in school.

Half Term Two in Reception

Reception have been working very hard this half term. We have been learning about bears, explorers and all sorts of journeys!

We also invited parents into our classrooms for an afternoon of reading and hot chocolate.

Blue Class made a fantastic bear display. We really enjoyed using recyclable materials to show our favourite parts of 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt'.

Red Class made a story map of 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt'.

We have been learning lots of new words and sounds in Reception this half term. Parents were invited into Red, Yellow and Blue class to share a book with their children.

This first half term we have been learning about ourselves.
